The Helping Hands Walk-A-Thon this past August was such as great success! I would first and foremost like to thank all of our participants who braved the elements. By my calculations, August 9th was by far the hottest day of the summer. Rain there was not, but we sure had heat, humidity and wind! Gatorade and popsicles were in great demand. The heat was intense but so was everyone’s spirits as the kids rounded the track in wagons, tricycles, strollers and scooters.

A great big thanks to all of our sponsors and families who donated raffle items. We had great raffle prizes for all the kids; from laptops to bicycles, from scooters to video game consoles! And my biggest thanks goes out to all the kids who worked so hard to raise money! We had families going throughout their neighborhoods collecting over three to four hundred dollars in donations to support such a great cause. Because of them, The Monarch Organization was able to donate $5,500 to Hopes Friends(link). This money will help terminally ill children and their families at their greatest time of need.

Lastly, as I have stated before, I am overwhelmed by the amount of support and generosity that has been shown towards The Monarch Organization. Events like The Helping hands Walk A Thon held to raise money in memory of Piper would not be nearly as successful if it wasn’t for such great family and friends.

Thanks for such a memorable day!
